A barometer. High 115 cm. Wide 23 cm. Exquisitely made from burr walnut. With two pewter scales, the upper with a mercury filled indicator and signed S.Ronket Amsteldam. With an adjustable hand on the right. In Dutch the different temperatures ranging from hot to freezing cold. Up above inches, left Dutch and right English. Lower down a second scale indicating temperature. This one signed: "Stevanus Ronket Fecit Amstelodam" On the left a Celcius scale and Fahrenheit on the right. The barometer is in mint condition and working. It resembles the barometers by Paulus Wast which can be dated around 1750.

A couple of nineteenth century brass covered pan coasters with inscriptions.


Two pan-coasters. Wood covered with brass. One octagonal, dated 1883 , and with initials "H.P.L.S.", size 14,5 x 14,5 cm. One square with text "NOOIT VOLMAAKT" size 14 x 14 cm. Both in good condition albeit with signs of intensive use. "Nooit Volmaakt" is the Dutch translation of the Latin proverb "Numquam Perfectum.

An early seventeenth century brass toy scoop, found in Amsterdam.


A toy scoop. Overall length 14 cm. Maximal width 5 cm. Made of brass with attractive earth patina. On the lower part of the scoop hammered decorations, possibly letters. The holding end connected with a couple of hammered brass nails. The scoop was found in an early 17th century excavation site in the center of Amsterdam. Considering its age it remains in very good condition.

A small firing glass. High 9,5 cm. Upper diameter 6,5 cm. Diameter foot 5 cm. Clear pontil. A small air bubble low in the foot. In mint condition. Low Countries around 1750.
 

A rare brass sector dated

A rare brass sector dated " 1724 " also hallmarked and with makers initials.


A sector. Overall length 15,5 cm. Brass. On one side 96 numbers, and on the other 12. On the hinge of the side with the 96 numbers two hallmarks and three times de letter "V ". Upon opening an inside extension folds out which is dated " 1724 ". In between the 17 and the 24 a hallmark with a key. The sector is in mint condition and was most likely made in Germany.

A faucet stop. High 9 cm. Wide 6 cm. Solid bronze with a clear makers sign in the form of a lizard. In mint condition. Low Countries, first quarter of the seventeenth century.

A cookie mould. Size 25,5 x 23,5 cm. Thickness 3 cm. On one side a mermaid blowing a trumpet and a sea-horse, and on the other a man with a horse. In good general condition with old and inactive worm holes. Low Countries around 1750.

A childs push sled. High 90 cm. Long 100 cm. Wide 45 cm. With the name of the owner, Geesje de Vries, and the coat of arms of the City of Enkhuizen, three herrings. Also with a date of possibly 1800. In very good general condition. No repairs or damages. But with signs of use. Toy sleds of this quality in good condition are rare.

A small serving tray. Long 46 cm. Wide 37 cm.          High 8 cm. In the center of the tray a handpainted image of an Italianate landscape with a ruine, a lake, trees and in the distance a mountain. The painting is surrounded by a gilt border. The painting is expertly done. The tray is in good condition with minimal signs of use. Probably Holland, mid-nineteenth century.

A small oval mirror in a frame. Overall height 27 cm. Length of the mirror 11,5 cm. The baroque frame is very well sculptured. The mirror itself is original and consists of mercury coated thin glass. This item was made during the reign of King Louis XIV (1637-1715). It is in mint condition. No repairs, damages or restorations. A truly rare find.

A sled. Long: 85 cm. Wide: 27 cm. High: 37 cm. Beautifully decorated with "Kerbschnitt" and vividly coloured paint. On the side a strip with flowers and on the back a girl with a chair on het side and flowers in het right hand. On both sides a bird. In the middle also a decorated strip. The sled is in mint condition and was made in Hindeloopen in the second half of the eighteenth century.
 

A rare seventeenth century pewter

A rare seventeenth century pewter "horse shoe" spoon.


A pewter spoon. Overall length 15 cm. The spoons handle is crowned with a horse leg. This type is very rare and was made in the early seventeenth century. It was found in an ancient excavation site in Middelburgh in the Dutch province of Zeeland. On the back a 17th C. hallmark. The spoon has a stunning black patina. It is in mint condition.

Two "TAAI" moulds. Nineteenth century. Used to make traditional "Taai" cookies in December.


Two cookie moulds. Length 61 and 48 cm. Both moulds with a metal rim around the images. This is typical for a rather uncommon type of mould, called "TAAI-TAAI". Both moulds with two men and two ladies. In perfect condition, ready for use in December.
